“What,-” She stopped and took a deep breath. It was a few minutes later when Clarissa seemed to finish organizing her thoughts. Jonas tentatively took a seat beside her and waited for her to speak. Jonas quietly followed and they walked for a minute until they reached a semi secluded spot on campus and Clarissa sat down on a bench. He didn’t want to push Clarissa into telling him something she wasn’t comfortable sharing, but at the same time the whole situation seemed a little off.Ĭlarissa gleaned off to the side towards the campus park and taking a moment to gesture to Jonas she started down the path, away from his car. “Why did you quit the other college?” The silence between them turned nerve wracking and Jonas found himself mindlessly tapping his leg while he waited for an answer. “Clarissa?” Clarissa glanced at him through the corners of her eyes. After a minute he finally gave in to the temptation. The silence between them while they strolled towards his car was comfortable but Jonas had questions digging at the back of his mind. He was surprised when Clarissa had contacted him the night before asking for a ride, he would have thought she would be one to avoid dragging someone else along on this sort of trip. Nona was leaving town today and while Ren was moping while Jonas was helping Clarissa scope out Camena College. “You mean the egotistical self promotion?” Jonas let out a huff of amusement as they started towards the parking lot where Jonas’ jeep was parked. “Didn’t like the wonderful presentation the dean gave us?”Ĭlarissa scowled again. Clarissa abandoned her intimidation of her friend with a roll of her eyes as Jonas hunched over in a laughing fit. The promise of a very painful death only made Jonas chuckle more. Jonas chuckled and she turned her glare towards him. Her eyes were squinted as she stared up at the sky. Jonas turned around to face a scowling Clarissa. It reminded Jonas just how much he hated his college orientation in the first place. The past three incredibly early morning hours had been spent sitting in hard bleacher seats. He sighed in relief as he felt a few pops in his spine. He reached behind his back with his hands and clasping them together arched his back. Jonas stepped out into the Morning sunlight and squinted as the sharp change in light hurt his eyes.
